piazza del Duomo

last month when I was on a business trip in Milan, I had the chance t visit the Doumo... what really caught my eyes is the statues on the windows... each window decorated with different statures and each window has different statues than the others... this is a picture I took while we were driving by at night...

read some history I quoted from http://www.milanoinfotourist.com/home.htm

"The works began in 1386. The Duomo is an exceptional example of Lombard Gothic. The Cathedral was commissioned by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, and dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente. It is an immense mountain of marble shaped into statues, pinnacles, buttresses, rampant arches and pillars."
